Vendors of Antiques - Monthly Catalogue Sale Silverwoods valuers conduct a free no obligation appraisal service at their sale room every Monday morning (apart from bank holidays). This is aimed chiefly at vendors of antiques and collectables for entry into our monthly catalogue sales. All items are inspected and appraised, estimates and reserves discussed and advice given as to which sale your items should be put forward. Some items will be more suitable for the weekly general sale. Reserve prices will only be applied to a lot on the specific instruction of the vendor who must speak to the auctioneer. This reserve figure will always be subject to a 10% discretion unless it is a fixed reserve.Unsold lots which carried reserves are generally not reoffered unless the reserve price is reduced. If you are unable to attend on a Monday or if your antiques are too large for you to bring then please contact us to arrange a convenient appointment. As our monthly sales are conducted live online, your items are guaranteed to attract the attention of a huge world wide audience. Costs of selling Antiques Silverwoods deducts15% commission of the hammer price on each lot sold up to a price of £500 and 10% of any balance achieved over this amount. A minimum charge of £3 is applied to each lot whether sold or unsold. An insurance charge of 1% of the hammer price of each lot is deducted. These costs are subject to VAT at the current rate. Payment to vendors is made within 3 weeks of each sale. Vendors of General Goods - Weekly Sales Silverwoods conducts a very busy general sale every Wednesday evening for home furnishings and household effects. Vendors for these sales should deliver their items on a Wednesday morning when they will be immediately placed into the sale and lotted for that evenings sale. As this sale is so popular we recommend that you deliver before 12 noon. Any lots not sold in this sale must be removed by the vendor before 8pm. Costs of selling general goods Silverwoods deducts 15% commission of the hammer price on each lot sold. A minimum charge of £1 per lot is applied to each lot whether sold or unsold. These costs are subject to VAT at the current rate. A disposal charge for any unsold items not immediately removed after the sale will be applied at the rate of £5 for each item of furniture and £1 for each lot of bric a brac. Payment to vendors is made within 10 days of each sale. Alternatively vendors can collect their cheques for general goods from the Cattle Market office from the Friday morning following each sale.
