LADIES ROLEX HIGHLIGHT AT SILVERWOODS’ AUTUMN SALE

This Thursday (16th October) Silverwoods holds its 40th Anniversary Autumn Catalogue Sale - an important sale of antiques, fine art, silver, jewellery, clocks, watches and fine furniture.  Among a strong line up of lots is a ladies Rolex Oyster Perpetual datejust diamond and gold watch from a private collection, which is expected to realise between £8,000 and £12,000, as well as a number of other good quality investment pieces such as diamond rings, silver and clocks.

Pictures are another feature of the sale and local interest will be sparked by an early 19th century oil painting of the Inn at Whitewell with Dunsop Bridge and the Trough of Bowland in the background.  There has also been a lot of interest in a signed Toulouse Lautrec lithograph print of Aristide Bruant and a Mary Lawrence oil on canvas still life of summer flowers dated 1823.

In the furniture section, bidding is expected to be competitive on a Georgian oak bureau bookcase which features lots of drawers and ‘secret’ compartments, and a very attractive oak three plank traditional welsh dresser.  Silverwoods of Lancashire, Ribblesdale Centre, Lincoln Way, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 1QD.  The sale starts at 11.00 a.m and you can download a catalogue now from: www.silverwoods.co.uk.
